Descripción
Sumario:The study aims to identify and analyze concepts, challenges, and good practices in strategic planning, highlighting how community universities can use management tools to improve their sustainability and community impact. The methodology used was a bibliographic review of articles published between 2015 and 2024 in the Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar electronic databases, with data collection in January 2025. The results reveal that community universities face significant challenges, such as a lack of financial resources and the need to align academic objectives with the demands of the local community. Good practices were identified, such as the adoption of planning models such as the Balanced Scorecard and Situational Strategic Planning, allowing for integrated management focused on sustainable results. The studies highlighted the importance of collaborative practices and the participation of all stakeholders in the planning process. The final considerations highlight that strategic planning is essential for the continuity and growth of community universities, providing valuable insights for managers and a basis for formulating public policies, contributing to the advancement of knowledge.
