| Sumario: | This paper intends to measure the reach and the influence exercised by the hygienist social movement and by the eugenics in literary works of a determined genre, works produced in distinct historical moments. O Presidente Negro (1926), by Monteiro Lobato, 3 Meses no Século 81 (1947), by Jeronymo Monteiro and Fazenda Modelo (1974), by Chico Buarque, objects of the study, are categorized as utopian or dystopian science fiction. To undertake its objective, the paper articulates proposals about Hygienism in Brazil to the notion of science fiction as literary genre. |
