Sumario:Social challenges such as climate change, the overload of healthcare systems, disparities in access to education, job insecurity, among others, are exacerbated by disinformation, which compromises the interpretation of facts and decision-making. This investigation propose a comparative study between Brazil and Portugal, conducted through an integrative literature review, to understand the concept of media literacy, analyzing initiatives to minimize the implications of disinformation - one of today's greatest social challenges. The results reveal diversity in the strategies and resources employed, highlighting a consensus: only a critical stance makes society more resistant to manipulations that serve illegitimate interests.
