Sumario:The impact of religiosity and spirituality (R/S) on mental health is well known. However, there is a large gap between this knowledge and the practice of psychologists and psychiatrists. Part of this gap is due to the lack of training of health professionals in topics of this nature. Thus, this study aims to report a brief practical review of psychotherapeutic lines that address R/S supplying part of this lack of training. First, we performed a literature review and, then, the description of the main psychotherapeutic techniques that contemplate the R/S issues. The psychotherapeutic lines that interface with R/S described in this study are Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Analytical oriented psychotherapy, and Phenomenological-existential oriented psychotherapy.
