Sumario:Introduction: The climacteric is characterized by the transition from the reproductive to the non-reproductive period in a woman's life. For some women, it is turbulent, with the presence of symptoms such as hot flashes, excessive weight gain and poor sleep quality, directly affecting women's health and emotions. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between the presence of changes in sleep quality with the intensity of climacteric symptoms and health and lifestyle variables. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional epidemiological study, whose sample consisted of climacteric women. Data collection took place exclusively online. Sleep quality through the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Scale and climacteric symptoms through the Menopause Rating Scale (MRS). Results: 160 women participated in the study, 100% reported some climacteric symptom. The most prevalent were loss of sexual interest (61.9%), poor sleep quality (57.5%) and hot flushes (45%). Poor sleep quality was significantly related to health and lifestyle variables, in addition to age and work. Conclusion: The severity of climacteric symptoms, physical exercise, overweight, age group and occupation with paid work were related to worse sleep quality. Thus, it is important that professionals who work in the promotion of women's health are aware of early detection and intervention in order to improve the quality of life of women at this stage.
