Descripción
Sumario:This paper aims to analyze the history of Colombia from the perspective of Political History and the History of Education, focusing on the period known as La Regeneración (1880-1905). This was a period in Colombian history marked by the centralization of political power and the role of the Catholic Church in the educational system of that nation, whose objective was to promote the fulfillment of the civilizing path that the presidents of the regenerator movement sought to follow. This article, which originated from our doctoral research, is based on the analysis of written documentation related to the educational project of La Regeneración, based on the alliance between the Colombian State and the Catholic Church.
