Description
Summary:This thesis examines whether human resources management practices toward product and process innovations are related to adopting management innovation. Grounded on theories that associate human resources management and innovation, this research was based on a quantitative-descriptive methodological approach, via survey, involving 416 workers in managerial functions at organizations from different Brazilian states. Further structural equation modeling was used to analyze constructs that link human resources and innovations. Results display prominent differences in human resources management practices toward product and process innovations of innovative and non-innovative organizations, as well as help in understanding adoptive management, product, and process innovations. One of the relevant conclusions of this survey, encompassing the 2014-2016 time frame, points to a relatively lighter direct effect of certain human resources management practices on management innovation when compared to their impact on product and process innovation. This highlights the complexity of management innovation and human resources management relationship.
