| Resumo: | This paper analyzes the aspects related to rhythm in the comments of ten Brazilian poetic translators in the context of the translation of free verse in English to Portuguese, highlighting the division of the many poetic forms classified as free verse between those based on rhythm and those organized around other poetic elements, the idea that the translation of mechanical effects from the original does not lead to a satisfactory translation of rhythm and the need for a mediation element between the rhythms of the source and target languages. |
