| Sumario: | Objective was to verify the influence of using different methods of handling hives recreates acceptance of larvae for the production of Italian queen bees (Apis mellifera ligustica). The work was conducted during the month of August 2008, the Hawaiian Queen CO, city of Captain Cook, State of Hawaii, USA. Was used method proposed by Doolittle (1899) using acrylic domes. The treatments consisted T1-hive with the queen rearing consists of a nest, excluding screen and sobreninho (growing), T2-hive with Queen Rearing composed nest sobreninho 1, excluding screen and sobreninho 2 (rearing), T3-Introduction of the larvae transferred to an environment with orphaned worker bees and transfer to a hive with queen rearing consists of a nest, excluding screen and sobreninho (growing), T4-Introduction of the larvae transferred to environment orphaned worker bees to a hive and transfer recreates composed by queen a nest, sobreninho, excluding screen and sobreninho (growing). After running the test of normality Shapiro-Wilk test was performed by t test for independent samples and Mann-Whitney test. There was significant at 5% probability level between treatments, or treatments 1, 3 and 4 were the most effective for larval acceptance and output of queens. |
