Descripción
Sumario:The imaginary has served mankind as a great source of speculation for the future. Over the centuries, inventions considered impossible achievements have become reality and have left the papers to assume their physical spaces in people's daily lives. Whether it's represented by Da Vinci projects, Jules Verne's literature or even the Méliès films, the science-fiction media has been a catalyst for real transformations in technology and society, besides it has helped us think about the present itself based on our projections of what is to come. This textfocuses on the imaginary and some media expressions, especially the cinema, to point out a perspective of interpretation of futuristic narratives that goes beyond its ephemeral playful moment of fruition. The seemingly simple act of imagining and simulating the future through the media, in this way, may prove to be a strong exercise of human mental rehearsal for what it will eventually acquire.
