Descrição
Resumo:Birds are uricotelic animals, they excret uric acid as the chief component of nitrogen metabolism, which comes from the feeding or catabolism of corporal tissue. Considered a metabolic pathology, uric gout is characterized by the abnormal accumulation of uric acid crystals. Its occurrence is possible in two different ways: articular gout and visceral gout. This present work reports a case of visceral gout on toucan toco (Rampastos toco), diagnosed by gross anatomy and histopathology.
