| Resumo: | Temporomandibular joint dysfunction play a negative role in a patient life quality standard. It is considered that the temporomandibular dysfunction either a multicausal phenomenon. A diversity signs and symptoms such as muscular pains, headaches, temporomandibular joint localized pain and joint noise may lead to difficulties of correct diagnosis. The clinical signals equally are distributed between the sex, however, the incidence in the feminine sex is a little bigger in relation to the masculine sex. The main etiological factors in the aged patient can be several, between them the bad occlusion, stress emotional and muscular hiperfunção. A confirmed time the dysfunction, can be used of the modification of prosthesis total inferior with reestablishment of the vertical dimension of occlusion for the treatment of muscles and ATM, before the set of teeth confection new. Later to the relief of the symptoms of the DTM they are carried through prosthesis new. |
