Effects of the exercise aerobic in different intensities on the capillary serum glucose in an individual diabetic type I

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of the exercise aerobic in three different intensities, 70, 60 and 50% of the maximum Heart Frequency (FH max.), of an individual with Diabetes Mellitus Insulin-Dependent (DMID). Submitted to the practice of vigorous walk, jogging and run by peri...

Sumario:The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of the exercise aerobic in three different intensities, 70, 60 and 50% of the maximum Heart Frequency (FH max.), of an individual with Diabetes Mellitus Insulin-Dependent (DMID). Submitted to the practice of vigorous walk, jogging and run by period of 45 minutes. The capillary serum glucose was monitored, I equip Accu-Chek Advantage (Roche), before the exercises (time 0), in the 15, 30 and 45 minutes during the exercise and in the 30, 60 and 120 minutes powder-exercise. Sharp reduction of the capillary serum glucose was obtained during the exercise in the three intensities, average of 101.7 ± 11 mg.dl-1, same being in state hiperglycaemia in the initial period, average 187 mg.dl-1. The reduction of the serum glucose, in the exercise presented better results when the intensity was light, 50% HR max. 113 mg.dl-1, against mg.dl-1 to 60%, and 101 mg.dl-1 to 70%. In the period of the 60 to 120 minutes powder-exercise, there was light increase of the serum glucose, in the order of 18 mg.dl-1 to 60% of the HR max. and 3 mg.dl-1 to 50%. In the intensity of 70% of the HR max. they were not registered the results powder-exercise, due to presentation of picture hypoglycemia 50 mg.dl-1, in the fortieth fifth minute of exercise. It was shown this way that, the exercise aerobic, vigorous walk, to 50% of the HR max. it is more effective for the reduction of the serum glucose favoring in the prevention of the related complications the this pathology.
