Sumario:The present experience report aims to expose an extension project carried out throughout the year 2021 in a school in the interior of the state of Santa Catarina. Entitled “Debating Gender in School” it was structured with the purpose of offering in the school context a space for conversation for teenagers on the topic of gender, promoting the construction of a more respectful and inclusive society. For its effectiveness, group work was used as a method through conversation circles, and, over six meetings, we sought to outline a space for exchanges, listening, respect and sharing. The experience was extremely important for both university students involved and for adolescents participating in the proposal, given the opportunity to learn for both categories of students. It was found that the realization of this group opened a channel of communication on the gender theme, allowing awareness, constructions and deconstructions of conceptions, in order to break with gender inequality. It is considered extremely important that actions like this one are developed in schools in Brazil.
