| Sumario: | Due to the imaging techniques development in medicine, many illnesses considered unusual in the past, began to be diagnosed more frequently, as is the case of stroke. These disorders include hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes, the latter is usually caused by a blood vessel occlusion by thrombus or embolus. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are diagnostic auxiliary methods, which has been widely used for the identification of cerebral vascular diseases. These non-invasive imaging techniques enable the identification and evaluation of the central nervous tissue injuries and provide information regarding the size, shape and location of the lesion, as well as the magnitude of their side effects. This review aims to present the main aspects of ischemic strokes observed in computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging in dogs. |
