Descripción
Sumario:This article aims to discuss the concept of Peace as a cultural constructo and as an opposition to passivity in the face of social injustice. It carries out a historical and conceptual journey on the construction of the Culture of Peace, bringing the main apprehensions about peace that influenced the organization of life in society. The study comes from a bibliographic review, using the critical-dialectic method for analytical investigation and exposure of research results. The analyzes showed that the Culture of Peace, in seeking to resolve conflicts, contributes to the confrontation of the dominant culture, in which violence is combated through confrontation and ideological constructs that justify and naturalize it. In this way, it is possible to assert that Culture and Education for Peace are potentialities for the construction of knowledge and the affirmation of democracy, as they seek the genuine edification of human relations, based on values of social justice, solidarity and freedom.
