| Sumario: | In this article, we investigated the colonialized representations about the indigenous people presents in the Júlio de Castilhos Museum’s Journal and the History Archive of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, published between the years of 1952 and 1958 by the Júlio de Castilhos Museum. We also analyzed the meanings attributed to the Journals when inserted in the “Memorial and Resistance” exhibition as historical documents of the museum. We understand that the exhibition "Memory and Resistance" have proposed a criticism of the museum's coloniality through the display of its Journals content and simultaneously showed that the Kaingang and the Mbya-Guarani people, previously understood as subjects, became now the protagonists of the construction process regarding their own representations by participating in the exhibition's developing. |
