| Sumario: | The problem of disposal and storage of municipal waste is, nowadays, widely discussed by private and government entities. One of the existing solutions is the ability to combine selective collection with waste incinerators to produce energy. This article presents data from a study of companies that manage selective and efficient collection of municipal waste (CSR - Consorzio Servizi Rifiuti and ASMT - Azienda Servizi Municipalizzati Tortonesi of Tortona, Alessandria province) and a waste incinerator (thermo user or TU) of advanced design in the city of Brescia in Italy. The TU uses non-recyclable municipal waste to produce, through combustion, thermal energy that can be used directly as a means of heating (teleriscaldamento) or converted into electricity. |
