Sumario:In this article, we intend to analyze the ideas of populism and democracy in the thought of Ernesto Laclau and Chantau Mouffe. We will present the hypothesis that populism, for both authors, far from being an anti-democratic regime or mode of government, is a political logic that constitutes democracy. To this end, we will present the concept of populism of the two authors just mentioned, seeking to differentiate it from the use given by other social scientists. Furthermore, we will explore their accepted notion of democracy and its differences from the liberal notion.
