| Sumario: | This article deals with the senegalese street trade in the city of Santa Maria (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil), seeking an answer to the following question: “how does the production of trade spaces by the senegalese of Santa Maria contributes to their insertion in the street trade of this city?”. Relying on an ethnography developed between 2016 and 2017, we propose that the production of trade spaces by these immigrants is an everyday practice that both positively represents them in the interactions with buyers and ethnically differentiates them from other street vendors that occupy the same social space. |
