| Sumario: | The study seeks to measure the indirect effect of the education of mothers and fathers on the school performance of children who attend the 5th year of elementary school in Brazilian urban areas, through the mediation of the type of school they attend. The method used was the Causal Mediation Effect; data are from SAEB for the year 2017. The results show that the effect is enhanced by the type of school the children attend, whether they are private or public, especially when the father has completed higher education. |
