Descripción
Sumario:The aim of this paper is to analyze, based on city logistics, the operational feasibility of the use of urban freight vehicles (vehicles with a load capacity up to 2.5 tons), using the software TransCAD. The case study was conducted in a wholesale and distribution company in Uberlândia / MG. This is a traditional company that has been operating for 60 years and that stands out in the Brazilian scenario when it comes to distribution logistics processes. Due to high levels of complexity in providing logistics services in the central areas of large and midsize cities, companies have constantly been trying to find alternatives to allow this type of operation. In scenario generation, the TransCAD software was used to obtain the optimal routing in the distribution of loads. The method chosen was based on concepts of city Logistics and on the importance of urban distribution of loads, mainly in the central area of Uberlândia. The analyses will allow us to study the behavior of the vehicle profiles of urban distribution of loads, showing the better conditions from the point of view of the operational performance.
