Descrição
Resumo:This paper presents an account of the workshop entitled "Digital Technologies: Mobile Phones and Computing for the Elderly," developed by the Unisc Digital Inclusion Project in partnership with the Adulto Maior Program. The workshop aimed to train elderly participants in the use of technologies, specifically mobile phones, with a focus on internet security , as digital scams targeting the elderly population in Brazil increased significantly in 2024. This paper falls under Action Research and Quantitative and Qualitative Bibliometrics. The methodology used to organize the workshop included planning meetings, evaluations, and the activity development. An analysis of participant feedback revealed high satisfaction with both their learning experience and the dynamics of the lessons. Participants reported gaining new knowledge and greater confidence in using their mobile phones. Many elderly individuals highlighted the lack of time and patience from family members to teach them about digital tools, which makes the workshop even more necessary. The workshop provided an enriching experience, with detailed presentations and hands-on activities focusing on the functionalities of participants' mobile phones. The Unisc Digital Inclusion Project, in partnership with Adulto Maior Program, aims to continue promoting digital inclusion among the elderly, contributing to the development of the necessary skills for digital fluency with proper Internet security. Additionally, it seeks to encourage communication and socialization, which are essential for this age group
