| Sumario: | This text takes as its starting point the reflections made by Fábio Duarte Joly and José Ernesto Moura Knust in the article “Ancient Slavery in a Mediterranean Perspective: a Proposal for a Global Approach”. My comments consist of a first reflective effort dedicated to understanding how provincial Epigraphy can contribute to the study of Ancient Slavery in the contexts indicated by the authors. In this sense, I will conduct my reflections based on two simple questions, namely: how can provincial epigraphic studies contribute to testing and refining the analysis model proposed by Joly and Knust? What paths of analysis can we identify in the data contextualized in Lusitania? |
