Descripción
Sumario:This study investigates the relationship between rainfall variability, deforestation, and the occurrence of fire hotspots in the municipality of Tartarugalzinho, Amapá, between 2001 and 2022. Given the Amazon's importance for global climate balance, the research analyzes data on precipitation, deforestation, and fire hotspots, along with the manifestations of El Niño and La Niña, using geoprocessing tools (QGIS). The results indicate a moderate correlation between deforestation and fire hotspots, while the influence of precipitation on fire hotspots was weak. The overlay of Kernel density maps revealed that deforestation has historically been concentrated in areas with rural settlements and along the BR-156, coinciding with zones of high and medium fire hotspot density. This suggests that deforestation contributes to the occurrence and concentration of fire hotspots, especially during extreme climatic events. The analysis underscores the need to consider both climatic factors and anthropogenic influences on environmental dynamics, providing a solid foundation for informed decision-making and sustainable strategies.
