| Resumo: | In 2008 the Constitutive Treaty of UNASUR was signed, the Union of South American Nations emerge as one of many integration organizations in the region and comes at a very particular context of a majority of left governments. Its purpose is to build an integration process beyond economics, incorporating cultural, social and ideological elements. For South America integration process may strength regional sovereignty by respecting a shared history between their peoples and make possible to reorganize the foreign policy aimed at breaking the dependence of the developed countries. Underdevelopment is not a necessary step to development, therefore is needed coordination between Nations involved in defense of their identity and sovereignty of its natural resources that breaks the dependency relationship. These elements should be equalized to Democracy and its limits. Study the possibility of democratic integration requires understanding the relationship between the decision-making power of citizens of a country that interfere in other democracies, whether for environmental, economic or other. UNASUR is therefore the result of a combination of Democracies Liberals in crisis of representation, country Governors of Marxist traditions and a clear impetus for popular participation. Analyze the political context in which it appears UNASUR and its ability to contribute a Democratic Integration process in South America is the aim of this research. |
