| description |
Persistent Scatterer Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PSInSAR™) is a remote sensing technique based on Differential InSAR (DInSAR) approaches. PSInSAR™ makes it possible to identify pixels that present stabilized phase related to the dispersion index. These pixels contain dispersed permanent features as man-made structures which includes bridges, dams, the building roofs, buildings, houses, and some natural features such as rocks and quarries. Thus, by analyzing the phase of these pixels, PSInSAR™ can overcome some difficulties found in the DInSAR technique such as problems related to atmospheric, temporal, and spatial decorrelations. Since its inception in the early 2000s and due to its ability to map surface deformation with millimeter precision, PSInSAR™ has been widely used to recognize deformation in risk areas such as sink/uplift and landslides. Thus, this article sought to describe the basic principle of the PSInSAR™ technique, focusing on how it has been used in the national and international context. In addition, we also show some commercial and open-source packages for PSInSAR™ processing. |

PSInSAR Technique for Deformation Assessment: Conceptual Analysis, Applications, and PerspectivesTécnica PSInSAR na Avaliação de Deslocamentos: Análise Conceitual, Aplicações e Perspectivas InterferometriaMonitoramentoDeslizamentoSubsidênciaInterferometryMonitoringSubsidenceLandslidePersistent Scatterer Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PSInSAR™) is a remote sensing technique based on Differential InSAR (DInSAR) approaches. PSInSAR™ makes it possible to identify pixels that present stabilized phase related to the dispersion index. These pixels contain dispersed permanent features as man-made structures which includes bridges, dams, the building roofs, buildings, houses, and some natural features such as rocks and quarries. Thus, this article sought to describe the basic principle of the PSInSAR™ technique, focusing on how it has been used in the national and international context. In addition, we also show some commercial and open-source packages for PSInSAR™ processing.
