| Sumario: | This work aims to propose the use of the Cleaner Production (PmaisL) tool as a strategy to optimize waste segregation in a public hospital located in Porto Alegre, aiming at cost reduction and occupational risks associated with waste management. The approach seeks to identify more efficient ways of treating hospital waste without compromising the proper disposal process. PmaisL prioritizes the identification and implementation of practices and processes that aim to reduce waste, minimize environmental impact, and improve waste management efficiency. The application of the tool involved the analysis of the current situation, identification of improvement opportunities, and implementation of specific actions. Positive results were obtained, including a reduction of approximately 23% in costs associated with proper disposal of solid waste and a decrease of 32% in proper management of liquid waste |
