Descripción
Sumario:This paperis based in researchwith adolescents in a detention centerin a city of Minas Gerais State, Brazil. It aims to analyzes the masculinity of the bandit, its contexts and dynamics that rangebetween hegemony and subalternity. Rely on a feminist perspective, this ethnography drew on 4 months of field work and 22 interviews. The mainargument is that adherence to criminality is part of a process ofappreciation of a model of local hegemony, by men subordinated by the dynamics of regional and global hegemony. We usedthe concept of hegemonic masculinity and subalternized masculinity to describe thedynamics of thepower relations between men, which mainly meet the demands of global capitalism. Amongbosses and workers and several other models of masculinity, the masculinity of each gangsteris constructed.
