| Sumario: | This paper is part of a broader research named "Comunicação, consumo e memória: Cosplay e culturas juvenis" (free translation: Communication, consumption and memory: Cosplay and youth cultures), an on-going study at the PPGCOM-ESPM-SP, and analyses the partial findings of an initial investigation conducted during the Anime Dreams 2012 festival, in the city of São Paulo. The reasons for carrying out the cosplay as well as the selection, the broadcast and the consume circuits of characters and narratives were mapped based on the machinist unconscious concept of Félix Guattari and on theories about youth culture and media. Interviews indicated processes of resistance and suggested alliances and interruptions among serialized and singularized subjectivities. |
