It will be argued that the Rede da Democracia, a mediatic network formed by Globo, Jornal do Brasil and Diários Associados radio stations and newspapers, has played a key task campaigning against the President Goulart government, provoking its disruption. Therefore, the creation of the Rede, cannot be framed as a mere reaction to the ‘radicalization ambiance’ of that period, as coup d’état’s revisionism historiography places it. To start discussing the revisionist approach, to point out its main arguments and relations with the Rede are some of the main goals of the present article.
