Sumario:This article discusses pressure groups formed by retired military personnel in Brazil, whose ideological line features a strong anticommunist discourse. In general, these groups were formed after the return to democracy, and one of their main goals is to defend the status quo ante. To better trace the origin of these groups, we included a historical analysis to explain how anticommunism gained expressiveness within the Brazilian Armed Forces.
