description Translation is a space of negotiation comprising various instances, among which the translational position, the translation project, and the horizon of translation, as proposed by Antoine Berman (1995), with their own specificities and essentially affecting the practice of translation and its final product. As a space of negotiation, translation is clearly set in a relational perspective and every relation necessarily assumes an ethical domain, whichever definition of ethics it maybe endowed with. Based on Henrique C. de Lima Vaz (1999), quoted by Maurício Mendonça Cardozo (2007), who presents the concept of the word ethics originally as a place, we derived the existence of an awareness of the position one holds in a given relation, the place where one speaks from and to whom, what offers us fertile ground for ethics in translation to be effectively viewed as praxis and to be projected in bermanian terms. In the particular case of the translation Fires (1981), by Dori Katz, of the work Feux (1936), by Marguerite Yourcenar, many are the variables, other than the direct relation with the source - text, that compose a very specific scenario in literary translation.

Espaço de negociação, a tradução é claramente relação, e toda relação pressupõe uma esfera ética, qualquer que seja o conceito a partir do qual se defina essa dimensão. A partir de Henrique C. de Lima Vaz (2015), citado por Maurício Mendonça Cardozo (2007), que traz o conceito original da palavra ética como lugar, derivamos a existência de uma consciência da posição que se ocupa, de onde se fala e para quem se fala, o que nos oferece campo fértil para pensarmos efetivamente a tradução como práxis e projetá-la em termos bermanianos.
