| Summary: | indirectly make use of the coastal spaces for the development of leisure activities, recreation and culture. Of the total number of neighborhoods, only 15 are categorically coastal, that is, they border the sea. Of these, the neighborhood of Praia de Iracema, historically, is the coastal area that has suffered the most landscape and cultural changes in the last 100 years. Today, Iracema Beach is one of the main tourist spots of the capital of Ceará and one of the most sought after by the people of Fortaleza for the development of leisure and recreation activities. It is a space with a diversity of services, events, leisure, music and art in general, with cultural events that occur all over the place, organized by different social groups. Thus, this study analyzes how the different landscapes of the beach are formed based on the cultural manifestations that happen there and how they impact in Fortaleza. Through a regressive-progressive approach by Henri Lefebvre, based on past and current facts, the article analyzes how its processes of use - from its use as a port, through medical use, summer vacation, and currently for recreation and tourism - have been and are taking place. Based on these discussions, it analyzes how the spatialization of the beach influences its current urban and landscape dynamics, and consequently, the cultural and social image of Fortaleza. |
