| Sumario: | This study investigated a new way of grouping cephalometric data to construct a model that we have called "padrão UFRGS" (UFRGS cephalometric analysis). We used 55 lateral teleradiograms to test the effectiveness of this model, and compared its diagnostic performance with the USP and Ricketts analyses by evaluating factors that differed in these cephalograms such as the relationship of apical bases to the anterior cranial base in the USP analysis, and the position and inclination of upper incisors and the inclination oflower incisors in the Ricketts analysis. Complementary measurements were made to ensure reliability of the comparisons. Our results showed that the "padrao UFRGS" is reliable in the determination of diagnosis. |
