| Sumario: | This essay has as main theme the LGBTI+ issue and how the guidelines of this population are incorporated or not, in the work of Librarianship, from the formation to the performance of this professional category. It aims to carry out an analysis in order to understand if there are approximations, distancing or shrinking of LGBTI+ demands with the field of activity of the Librarian. A historical review of the LGBT movement is presented and including a brief explanation of specific terms, clarifies the political and methodological position of action the movement assumes and how this tension occurs in Librarianship of yesterday and today. We believe that for a humanistic area, a great path must be taken to break stereotypes, practices that foment prejudice, and banish oppressive ideologies that foment hatred and discrimination. In order to do so, it is necessary to stimulate debate more and more, to insist on the discussion, to change the political pedagogical projects with the inclusion of themes related to political and social minorities, to invest in the formation of the professional to clarify and foster a practice aimed at plurality and diversity. |
