Sumario:The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of ergogenic resources (protein and carbohydrate supplementation) on physical performance of moderately active people. Materials and Methods:We conducted a randomized double -blind study with 20 volunteers, aged between 18 and 60 years, practicing physical activities and moderately active for at least one year. Participants performed a battery of physical tests to determine its previous capacity, and seven days later underwent a new battery of physical tests after receiving one of the following solutions: carboidrato1, 0g/Kg + 30g protein or placebo. The subjects were interrogated after each physical test on the perception of effort made and the results of physical tests were evaluated in comparison with the previous week. Statistical analyzes were performed using Stata ® 11.1 assuming statistical significance level of 5%. Results: The only significant difference was about the repetitions of abdominal test, which was higher in the supplement group than in the placebo (p=0.04).Discussion:In the protocolof load testsdid not finda statisticallysignificant difference, similar toother studies. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed no significant benefit for the use of carbohydrate and protein supplements for adults engaged in physical activity aimed at improving their physical performance.
