Sumario:The violence subject has been part of several studies as it has been a great issue concerning to pedagogical practice. Furthermore, violence is wider than school limits and its part of most social sections. René Girard’s work contributes to the comprehension of violence as a social phenomenon. Its contribution is decisive for the research in Education although it is poorly explored within this context. Girard’s concept of mimetic desire allows the understanding of violence mechanism as well as the development of a solution, the desire education. His thesis is reinforced by Paulo Freire’s interest for a Pedagogy of Desire, and the discussion on violence is broaden evolving the processes of social exclusion.
