Proposes the concept of nominal formation as a category of enunciate and also discusses the fundamentals of nominal determination, taking the view that enunciation produce specification demands by withdrawing the nouns of a virtual state of generality. It is reconsidered, in this way, the traditional view according to which the nouns require to complete their sense, being questioned the controversial ideas of deficit and superavit of the grammatical description.More specifically, we discuss the criteria that differentiate nominal complements of adjuncts; the first is defined as the discursive re-encapsulation categories of nouns, while the latter are defined by having an expository function of regulating the reference unit of noun. Finally,designs that determination occurs not only in nominal phrase level, but also at the level of the entire enunciate.Esta pesquisa discute a semântica dos nomes, de acordo com as noções de acontecimento e encapsulamento, perpassadas pelas instâncias da memória e da atualidade. Propõe o conceito de formação nominal (FN) como categoria enunciativa e discute, também, os fundamentos da determinação nominal, assumindo a perspectiva de que os enunciados produzem demandas de especificação ao retirarem os nomes de um estado virtual de generalidade. É repensada, dessa forma, a visão tradicional segundo a qual os nomes exigem termos que lhes completem o sentido, de modo a serem questionadas as controversas ideias de déficit e superávit norteadoras da descrição gramatical. De forma mais específica, são discutidos os critérios que diferenciam complementos nominais de adjuntos adnominais; os primeiros passam a ser definidos como categorias reencapsuladoras da discursividade do nome, ao passo que os segundos se definem por terem uma função enunciativa de regulação da unidade referencial do nome.
