Descripción
Sumario:In this article we review some theoretical approaches tothe artistic proposal of Argentine theatre director Vivi Tellas, focusing on her documentary theatre project Archivos, an expression of her wider project Biodrama. We will look intodifferent aspects that define her particular way of working with the real materials her performances are based on, and we will consider the possible ethical and aesthetic implications of her work. Giorgio Agamben’s notion of witness will play a special role in this analysis, since it enables us to formulate a hypothesis about the kind of testimony given by theseordinary bodies as well as by the objects/documents Tellas brings to the stage.
