Description
Summary:This study aims to present the importance of continuing education in the multidisciplinary context of primary health care and its process of professional improvement. This is an integrative literature review carried out from September 2020 to May 2021, which analyzed articles published on the Academic Google platform and the Virtual Health Library portal, including original articles indexed between 2016 and 2020. When analyzing the main findings of the selected articles, it was possible to identify, through different approaches, the applicability of PE in PHC, in addition to matrix support as an essential tool for PE in the multidisciplinary team. Also as the accessibility of CE for professional improvement with the advancement of digital media, it mobilizes government proposals for the availability of technologies. CE and PE are strategies that aim at constant professional development, focused on reducing difficulties and optimizing the services provided, for which a multidisciplinary search for knowledge beyond what is acquired in training is necessary.
