Sumario:The coach's intervention can directly and/or indirectly influence the result of the game, from the understanding and application during training, game and competition. The objective of this study is to present the performance of coaches during 16 seasons in the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol Masculino da Série A. It is descriptive research with secondary data. Eighty coaches who participated in the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol Masculino Série A were analyzed. Data were collected through notes on theTransfermarkt website (https://www.transfermarkt.com.br/campeonatobrasileiroseriea/erfolgreichetrainer/wettbewerb/BRA1), accessed on January 30, 2021. Coaches who had worked in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship between 2005 and 2020, who participated in the minimum amount of 25 games, were included. The indicators defined for data collection were coaches' names, nationality, how many clubs he coached, how many seasons he played, number of points won, average points per game and whether he was a professional soccer player. Our findings showed that the three (3) foreign coaches were among the top ten (10), with emphasis on coaches Jorge Jesus and Jorge Sampaoli, with the best performance averages, first and second, respectively. It is worth mentioning that the mentioned coaches had a smaller number of seasons and, consequently, a smaller number of games during the study period. On the other hand, the coaches with more seasons, we highlight: Muricy Ramalho with 10 seasons and the third best performance. Foreign coaches achieved better performances, being an athlete did not influence the coach's performance, but being a foreign coach is associated with better results.
