Sumario:In this study, we aim to analyze the rise of the extreme right in Brazil, especially regarding the mobilization of affections and desires. We focus on the analysis of social media and interviews with Jair Messias Bolsonaro and his allies for the purpose of understanding how bolsonarism mobilized choleric affections in part of the population through the use of media. Furthermore, we analyzed the role of national symbols, such as the flag and the colors green and yellow, in the narrative construction of the Brazilian far-right. This is due to the fact that, since the June 2013 demonstrations, these symbols have become associated with conservative movements and opposition to the center-left government, becoming emblematic of far-right ideology. The period analyzed covers the years 2015 to 2024, as we examined Bolsonaro's speeches before being elected, his four years as president, and even after his defeat to PT candidate Luís Inácio Lula da Silva in 2022, considering that his speeches continue to influence public opinion. In this study, we drew on the studies and contributions of Félix Guattari and Gilles Deleuze regarding the concepts of affect and subjectivation, as well as authors such as José Luiz Aidar Prado and Paolo Demuru, in order to better understand the use of social media in Bolsonaro's politics. Among the results obtained, we highlight the following points: (1) characterization of the new Brazilian far-right; (2) investigation of the use of the population's angry feelings as a Bolsonarist tool; (3) analysis of the use of both and digital platforms and traditional media as tools of ideological mobilization. By investigating the rise of Bolsonarism and the use of national symbols in the creation of a conservative narrative, this study clarifies how political communication is configured as a determining force in the polarization and reconfiguration of the Brazilian political scenario, becoming fundamental for studies of political communication and ideological discourses
