| Resumo: | This work aims to portray part of the life history of the African Luis Xavier de Jesus who lived and worked in Bahia during the first half of 19th century until he had been arrested and deported to Africa Coast, for supposing been involved in the slavery insurrection of 1835. Luis Xavier tries to return to Bahia in order to liquidate his escheats and promised to go back to African coast as soon as he had done it, but because of various reasons, his regress to the state was not authorized. |
