| Sumario: | This is a retrospective and documentary study whose objectives were to describe the prevalence of pregnant women undergoing conservative management of premature rupture of the fetal membrane (RPMF), attending Casa da Zilda Arns Gestante of Sofia Feldman Hospital since its inception; characterization of pregnant; identification of the conservative management of RPMF results on maternal and fetal health and to know the outcome of newborns whose mothers were subjected to conservative management, in the period from April 1st 2011 to March 31st, 2012 . Data from pregnant women were collected through the book records of the Casa da Zilda Arns Gestante, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and for neonatal data the database of the Brazilian neonatal Research Network was used. They were part of the study 114 pregnant women hospitalized with confirmed RPMF diagnosis in the period studied and 115 newborns, since one of them had a delivery of twins. The results showed that, of the 114 pregnant women, most were from the country of Minas Gerais, with less than 30 years and gestational age at time and less than 34 weeks inpatient ages. Of all pregnant women, 70.2% had normal delivery. With reference to the health conditions of the newborn, most had Apgar in 5th minute than 7 (87.8%) and 47.8% of them had the Hyaline Membrane Disease. It was found that conservative management of pregnant women with RPMF brought benefits to the population studied, expressed them in these maternal and neonatal results. |
