Sumario:This dissertation investigates the relationship between masturbation and pornography in contemporary times, analyzing its implications from a psychoanalytic perspective. The research examines the development of the topic of masturbation in Sigmund Freud's work, exploring everything from the concepts of neurasthenia, infantile sexuality and masturbatory fantasies to the impact of masturbatory practices on the psychic construction of the subject. Subsequently, the relationship between masturbation and pornography consumption is discussed, with special attention to fantasizing. It explores how the elaboration of masturbatory fantasies and the difficulty or absence of fantasizing work as fundamental mediations in the relationship between masturbation and pornography; both practices operate in different ways in the search for drive satisfaction. This analysis delves into the psychic elaborations involved, considering the mechanisms of equalization/articulation between drives and defenses, especially in the scenario of digital pornography. Through a bibliographical review and theoretical articulation with contemporary authors, it is concluded that the convergence between masturbation and pornography reflects fundamental aspects of the psychic dynamics that shape contemporary subjectivity. This relationship reveals modes of libidinal discharge that have significant implications for understanding the forms of psychic organization today.
