Sumario:This article intends to analyze fragments of three volumes of Los diarios de Emílio Renzi (PIGLIA, 2015-2017), in which one search to show a metadiscursive intention that puts the elaboration of the self in perspective. Based on a reflection about why and for whom the author writes a diary, the implications that generates in the discursive construction of the self and the relationship this writing establishes with socio-historical context, we will search to understand how Ricardo Piglia builds his own diary conception. To carry out this study, the article will have as theoretical references authors who analyze the issue of the diary as a format (Simonet-Tenant, 2004; Blanchot, 2005; Lejeune, 2015; Giordano, 2017) and also the work of the argentine writer (Avelar, 2000; Orecchia Havas, 2019), among others.
