Sumario:In the business context, adding value is to concentrate all the efforts necessary for the Organization to efficiently perform its activities and achieve its objectives. In this sense, the aim of this study is to investigate how microenterprises in the apparel sector add value through purchasing management. This study is considered a qualitative and exploratory research conducted through semi-structured interviews, based on the model proposed by Caczmareki (2008). Interviews were conducted with 5 retailers of micro-enterprises of Júlio de Castilhos-RS. Among the main results, it is noteworthy that the way the management of purchases is managed by micro-enterprises, when administered efficiently becomes an essential activity for business success, it was also found impasses in the process of Purchases in relation to vendor deadlines, demand forecasts, competition and inventory management.
