Sumario:The last decade has consolidated the concept of immersive journalism with narratives in Virtual, Augmented, Extended Reality and 360 Degree, which reached its peak with the popularization of VR glasses and productions in journalistic organizations such as Globo, Folha de S.Paulo, Vice, The Guardian, The New York Times, El País. The analysis of these productions has focused on the imagery and spherical aspect of the narratives as a prominent feature. However, immersive audio is a central element in the perception of storytelling in immersive journalism and we intend to explore this dimension in the article. The methodology includes theoretical-conceptual discussion and exploratory research of immersive audio narratives in illustrative cases. The results indicate the incipient use of the resource in productions and the scarcity of approach in the literature in the 12 years of research on immersive journalism.
