Descripción
Sumario:In view of the publishing project of my translation of Iwona, ksi??niczka Burgunda (Ivone, Princess of Burgundy), by Witold Gombrowicz – made for the first Brazilian staging of the play, in 2003 –, I revisit my undertaking and re-examine the translation process, its motivations and premises, its problems and results. Redirected from the space of the stage to the domain of literature, confronted with a new moment in the reception of Gombrowicz in our country, the translation carried out years ago gives rise to a series of questions: do the guidelines of the translation work (still) prove to be adequate? Do the solutions adopted, concerning text and paratexts, (still) seem satisfactory? How so?
